UK: NCS Survey Appoints New Managing Director

UK NCS Survey Appoints New Managing Director

NCS Survey Ltd., an Acteon company, has appointed John Meaden as managing director.

Meaden brings more than 30 years of experience in the offshore survey industry to NCS Survey, which offers a wide range of high-quality survey services using industry-leading technology. This invaluable experience will help the company in its drive to expand. Before joining NCS Survey in September 2011, Meaden was survey manager for Subsea 7 in northern Europe and managing director of Fugro–UDI in Aberdeen, Scotland. He started his career as a field surveyor and an offshore party chief before moving into project and commercial management.

“This is an exciting time for NCS Survey,” said Meaden. “I am very much looking forward to the challenge of continuing to deliver growth and global presence while developing our technologies and maintaining the highest levels of service to our clients. Our work force is now over a 100 strong and we have added offices in Stavanger, Norway, and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to our long established base in Aberdeen. Our aim is to build significantly on this platform in both our existing and new target markets.”

“John is taking charge during a period for sustained expansion for NCS Survey,” said Acteon executive vice president Paul Alcock. “Business expansion on the scale we hope to achieve with NCS Survey calls for experience in running large businesses. John has a good record in doing so and brings a wealth of expertise to the role. I am confident that he will guide the company to even greater success.”

Meaden has a BSc degree from Portsmouth Polytechnic, now the University of Portsmouth, in Hampshire, England. Additionally, Meaden has a diploma in surveying from Glasgow University and an MBA from Aberdeen University. He is also a graduate of the Harvard University Programme for Management Development (PMD 76).

NCS Survey Ltd, part of Acteon’s marine electronics, instrumentation and survey business, has bases in Aberdeen, UK; Stavanger, Norway; and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Its plans for growth are underpinned by strong financial and logistical support from Acteon.
