Vestas, Siemens Plan to Make Largest Offshore Wind Facility in Esbjerg, Denmark

Vestas and Siemens have plans to make the world’s largest offshore wind turbine facility by leasing a part of new East Port terminal situated at the Esbjerg Port, a Siemens representative confirmed to Port Strategy news portal.

Siemens Wind Power is already providing for three projects by shipping from Esbjerg. Therefore, this is a strategic move for the company.

The Port of Esbjerg will serve in the long-term as a logistics centre for Siemens’ nacelle plant in Brande, Denmark, while in a medium-term shipping of the wind turbines for its German North Sea offshore wind power projects will be performed from the port.

Reportedly, the facility is to be completed in 2014.
