Ireland: 20m WFSV Nears Completion at Arklow


Ireland-based boat building company, Arklow Marine Services, has almost completed the second 20 metre wind farm service vessel and fit out has commenced, with carpenters, electricians and insulators now on board.

Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for July, 2012.

Recently, the company has built its first-ever 20-metre Wind Farm Service Vessel “Gardian 8″ for GBP 1.7 Million.

Arklow Marine Services is a family business run by the Tyrrell family, involved in boat building in Arklow since 1864. During this period, the art of shipbuilding has evolved through many phases, from traditional timber boat building to steel boat building and the latest material being aluminum, which is used in the building of high speed vessels.

RAVE – International Conference 2015

The International Conference RAVE attracts more than three hundred international scientists, industry experts, policy-makers, and journalists. With inspiring speeches and a revealing panel debate, the two days are dedicated to scientific and technical presentations concerning a wide range of research results and operational experience gained from the first German offshore wind farm alpha ventus.

All in all, the conference reflects the continuous strong interest in the results of the RAVE research initiative which demonstrates the international relevance of the research results.
