USA: NC to See Offshore Wind Turbines in Next 5 Years

Latest study findings made by experts from the North Carolin Offshore Wind Coalition show that the earliest wind turbines might be seen constructed off the North Carolina coast only after five more years.

Governor Ben Purdue’s office presented the key features of a report compiled by a 15-person panel over the course of several years which strongly recommends participation of wind energy companies and further research efforts to determine the state’s potential to support the wind industry. The report indicates that North Carolina has some of the East Coast’s most promising site capacity however it will take a while before their capacity reaches the standard of wind power operations.

European countries have already noted considerable progress with wind projects accounting for over 21 percent of all new power capacity, and meeting almost 7 percent of its overall power demands.
